JOB SUMMARY:
The Retail Intern serves a general support role in the Biscuit Basket retail store at Riverwalk Stadium. He/she will work closely with the Director of Retail to insure that the store is operating effectively to maximize retail sales and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities of this internship include merchandising, personnel management, inventory control, cash management, daily sales reporting, vendor communication and website management. This position also demands strong communication with all departments, especially with marketing.
This internship is a great opportunity for a college student who is interested in a retail career to obtain “hands-on” experience with all non-buying aspects of a retail operation. Interns are required to work a full-time schedule that includes regular office hours and all Biscuits’ home games. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented
- Some prior retail experience
- Enthusiasm and desire to learn
START DATE: March, 2009
COMPENSATION: $1,000 per month, with approximately 11 comp days earned throughout the season. In addition, the Biscuits strive to accommodate strong performing interns with full-time positions at the conclusion of the internship.
