JOB SUMMARY:
The press box staff works cooperatively as a part of the Lugnuts’ in-game entertainment staff. Individuals have the opportunity to rotate and learn all positions within the press box as defined below.

Preferred qualifications for any press box position include: strong editing background; work with digital editing systems and software such as Adobe After Effects and Premier is a plus; experience with video production, including familiarity with video equipment, cameras and switcher equipment; strong computer skills, including skills with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are a plus; well organized with the ability to think quickly in stressful situations; and the ability to work with people in a coordinated effort.

  • Switcher/Technical Director – The Switcher is directly responsible for operation of the video switcher during all elements of Lugnuts’ games. This person is also responsible for communicating upcoming game day events and live camera shots needed with all camera operators.
  • Mono & LED Board Operator – The Mono & LED Board Operator is responsible for the operation of the Lansing Lugnuts’ mono board and outfield wall LED video boards before and during Lugnuts’ games.  The person is also directly responsible for creating graphics and text for the video boards and coordinating scoreboard projects with the Marketing department. 
  • Video Board Operator – The Video Board Operator is responsible for the operation of the Lansing Lugnuts’ LED video scoreboard before and during Lugnuts’ games.  The person is also directly responsible for loading and managing all graphics and video and coordinating scoreboard projects with the Marketing department.
  • Video Camera Operator - Responsible for the operation of the Lansing Lugnuts’ video camera before and during Lugnuts’ games.  The person is directly responsible for following live game action, in-game contests, and crowd shots. 
  • Video Replay Operator - Responsible for the operation of the Lansing Lugnuts’ video replays on the LED video board during Lugnuts’ games.  The person is also directly responsible for organizing, editing, and compiling clips and editing a pre-game highlight video for each game.

HOURS:
The Lugnuts’ season consists of 71 home games that are played between April and September.  Working in the Press Box requires you to have a flexible schedule which will include Friday, Saturday and Sunday hours as well as a commitment of approximately 50 of the 71 team home games. The position includes training in March as well.

Emcee

JOB SUMMARY:
The on-field Emcee is responsible for executing all in-game promotions during each inning break.  The Emcee must be energetic, outgoing and enthusiastic, possess a great speaking voice, love performing in front of large crowds and be comfortable interacting with fans of all ages.  In addition, the Emcee is responsible for memorizing scripts with the capacity to improvise on a nightly basis.  Most importantly, the Emcee must love to have fun and be able to excite thousands of fans. 

An audition will be required.

Previous live audience experience is desired.

Hours:
The Emcee is a seasonal position that requires working the majority of the Biscuits 70 home games; including weekends and holidays, from April to September. 

Mandatory training and orientation will take place in late February, early March.

Pay:
The Emcee is paid a flat rate of $45.00 per game.

Uniform:
The Emcee will be provided with a Biscuits jersey and various costumes for appropriate theme nights, but is expected to provide his/her own khaki shorts and light colored tennis shoes.

Each employee will have a $35.00 uniform deposit taken out of his/her first check.

Mascot Performer

Do you think you can fill his shoes?  Big Mo is a symbol of community and team spirit and is a large part of the entertainment package at Riverwalk Stadium.  Big Mo expresses and personifies the emotions of his audience.  An affinity for entertaining children and the desire to perform are necessary for the perfect candidate.

Prior mascot experience or theater experience is desirable, but not a necessity. Due to the physically demanding nature of being Big Mo throughout the game as well as some size requirements to wear the costume, an audition will be required for all qualified applicants.  Big Mo is required to be at all remaining home games and also make appearances periodically throughout the summer.

Montgomery Biscuits: Tampa Bay Rays Stringer

Looking to break into professional sports? How about a foot in the door with the Tampa Bay Rays? Or maybe you just love being at the ballpark! The Rays and the Biscuits are searching for someone to operate a newly-installed pitch-tracking system during Biscuits games from the press box at Riverwalk Stadium. The successful candidate will ideally work the full 70-game Biscuits home schedule (arriving no less than 30 minutes before first pitch), and will be computer-literate with an understanding of Microsoft Excel. The position requires close focus to every pitch, and a passion and general knowledge of the game of baseball. The position is unpaid.

The Biscuits season begins April 7th and runs through the beginning of September.

Group Event Photographer

Job Description:
The Group Event Photographer is a customer service and graphics oriented position responsible for the execution of all aspects of the Biscuits’ group event photo benefit (Monty’s Moments).

Job duties include organizing and taking group photos at each game, digitally cropping and finishing these photos and posting them on the website for viewing. 

The ideal candidate for this position is outgoing and personable, with an affinity for customer service and a skill set bent towards graphics.  Knowledge of web design and Photoshop is preferred, but not essential.

Hours:
The Group Event Concierge is a part-time, seasonal that begins in late February and concludes in September.  The Group Event Concierge is required to work at all Biscuits’ home games in addition to office hours during the week for uploading photos.  Office hours will average 1-2 hours the day following each game and are negotiable.

Pay:
The Group Event Concierge is paid $7.25 per hour.
           
Uniform
Uniform for each game will be white collared shirt and khakis, to be provided by employee.  Biscuits will furnish photographer vest and hat.


Biscuit Bunch

Job Description:
Calling all STARS!!!!!  As a Biscuit Bunch Member, you will be one of the select few employees responsible for executing on-field promotions.  No prior experience is required, but all applicants must love entertaining large crowds and possess an enthusiastic and outgoing personality.  Biscuit Bunch members are expected to perform some basic dance routines.

Candidates with a cheerleading or gymnastics background are encouraged to apply!

NOTE: All Potential candidates must be available for a live audition on Saturday, February 12th from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Positions will not be filled at Job Fair, but a short interview will be conducted.

Hours:
The Biscuit Bunch is a seasonal position that requires working at least 35 Biscuits home games, including weekends and holidays, from April to September.  All promotional staff members are required to be prepared and ready for work an hour and 35 minutes before the scheduled first pitch of each game. There will also be extensive training in March for all members of the Promotions Staff.

Staff Orientation and training will begin in late February, early March.

Pay:
Pay rate for the above position is $25 per game.

Uniform:           
Each employee will have a $35.00 uniform deposit taken out of his/her first check that will cover provided shorts and custom jersey.
